Overall, the video is really funny, and not many people would not dare to turn an object into a pile of crap. The transformation from banana to poo flowed really well because of the curve of the banana. The wheeling poo though was a let down because you have a backward walking banana, turning into a funny pile of crap and then... it just rolls away, it would have been cool to actually made the poo move on its on.

ReplyDeleteI really like this one, I think that the metamorphosis is seamless and entertaining. I especially liked how the eyes pop off the banana then fall back down into the car/crap pile thing. Driving off screen was an original idea too, instead of just "skating" or what not.
I do think maybe you should work on the walk cycle of the banana...maybe flip it around so it walks forwards instead of backwards...or maybe you wanted it to walk backwards so it would "accidentally" slip on the banana peel?
Either way, it would be cool to see a little more movement and fluidity in the banana to match that of the car at the end.

ReplyDeleteYou were the only one to use sound in your project, which I think worked well for your animation and made it stand out a bit from the rest. Conceptually, I'm a little confused about the wheels that pop up on the blob character in the end? Aesthetically, the banana has a strong, distinct look, but I think that its similarity to an existing character bothers me. Maybe you could play around with different styles for the banana to make it more unique. I do like that you kept the eyes of the blob character the same as the banana, and that the eyes kind of blinked and moved a bit. Overall, I think the movement in your piece could be refined even more to make it stronger, like adding more frames and redrawing certain parts of the objects (like the way you animated the limbs of the banana), etc. Nice work, homie :)
Great job over all. I enjoyed your animation and thought your concept and idea was funny and well thought. The sound worked great for your project and you went the extra step to do so .. that was a good look. The character has personality. and the fact that a banana slipped on a banana peel was ironic. Maybe work on the walk cycle a little more. Other than that it was great.
